If you're gonna be a voice actor, you need to do what is essentially a demo reel. It doesn't have to be a specific story, but mainly a recording of your voice and how well you can voice act. The people out there, will be willing to pay you, but they need to know you're worth paying for. They'll be looking for the following:
Acting ability. That part's easy, just act like you believe every word you say even if it's scripted.
Acting/Vocal Range. Crying, Yelling, Screaming and Laughing moments. To show that you are able to act in almost anything.
Impressions and Accents. This one is kinda optional, but if you're able to imitate voices or successfully imitate an accent, it will get you very far.
If you nail that, people would be begging you to voice for them.
